Little Girl's Kimono

This one was a 3rd birthday present for Lolly's little freind Ally (or "Elly" as pronounced by my toddler). It's green with purple butterflies & matching lining/binding.

I started out with an Ottobre design pattern for the top before enlarging it, adding extra binding, lining it and adding curves at the bottom - why couldn't I just pick something simple in the correct size?

I could just picture Ally in a little kimono so it *had* to be this one! I'm loving the design so much I think I shall tweak it a little further and make my little girl one using a recycled embroidered maternity top I have kicking around in the cupboard.

My favourite detail is the little ribbon ties, there's another little hidden one internally & I think some little mock vents on the sides would be sweet as well - maybe next time. :)
